Your Programming Predicts Your Future and is the root cause of how you think, feel & act

By Phil Barnao

As we discussed earlier your success must be defined by you. This becomes your purpose or your "why" in life. Once you have it defined the first ingredient you must possess in the attainment process is to have a "burning desire" and "relentless commitment" to its achievement.

Without desire and commitment fueling your success adventure you might as well just throw in the towel now because you'll never achieve anything worthwhile without it. This is what gets you through in the trenches of life where most people fold and quit.

You see I believe firmly that "Freedom is worth fighting for" because you and I were created to live in liberty (Gal 5:13). Deep down nobody wants to have other people or things controlling them. We all desire freedom.

One of the coolest things about a state of freedom is your ability to live your divine purpose in life. The point of freedom is not to just do nothing, but to create a way to benefit others by doing what you truly enjoy.

You were not created to do things all day long that you "dislike". You have been given interests, inspired opinions, skills and talents to be used to benefit others. This is where you'll most likely make your best money and definitely enjoy yourself and life the most.

Ok, so back to the first of the success ingredients desire and commitment…

Some people seem to naturally have desire and or commitment while others seem bankrupt in those departments. I'm often asked why? ..or how do I get them?

Let's start with desire. Through experience the only way I've found to increase desire level is to have you understand "programming". The computer was invented based upon the human mind and what ever is programmed into a computer is what comes out of that computer.

It's the same with us. Desire and commitment level to a large degree are determined by what you are programming into your mind. Every single thing you do from the people you hang with, to the movies you watch, the music you listen to, the sermons you hear, the seminars you attend or listen to on CD, and the books you read all count as programming.

"Everything that goes into your mind right now is programming your future"!
If you want to get fired up about your life and raise your desire and commitment levels simply Control or Filter what goes into your mind.

Basically limit the negative input and increase the positive and empowering stuff and you will be doing success back flips of every morning as your new programming starts to kick in and begin working. It takes some time so you have got to hang in there at the start which brings us to how to stay committed.
We go into this a lot more in => www.FitnessForSuccess.com
I'm going to give you an amazing commitment secret later on but for now understand this… "commitment doesn't even start until you don't want to do something".

Most people are led by their emotions and therefore never stay consistent. When I do fitness coaching and I'm training someone to work with weights I explain this as key ==> The secret is to "ignore you emotions", especially in the beginning because they will tell you to stop.

"Let your schedule lead you, NOT your emotions". It doesn't matter if you feel like working out or not, if your planner says Tuesday at 3PM it's time to train…you have to show up to do it. NO EXCUSES you absolutely must honor your self promise, it's vital.

Simply put.. toughen up, man up, woman up.

Start putting empowerment into your mind everyday and watch the transformation in your life. The bible states that we are to "focus and meditate" on GOOD things. Start choosing your programming right now...

This is arguably the most powerful success secret in history.

How To Be Successful In Life

By James

We all want to be successful in life but what can we do to assure that success, succeeding in life isn't as hard as you might think, there isn't any secret to it but rather just common sense, positive thinking and attitude and initiative.
long with this knowledge and understanding here are some tips to guide you down the path of success.

We all want to be successful in life but what can we do to assure that success, succeeding in life isn't as hard as you might think, there isn't any secret to it but rather just common sense, positive thinking and attitude and initiative. Along with this knowledge and understanding here are some tips to guide you down the path of success.

* Persevere - perseverance and determination are what is needed for success, if you don't give up at something you attempt then you can't fail, it's as simple as that. If something doesn't work out as planned the first time then try and try again using different methods to achieve the result that you are looking for.

* Change - if you are not happy with what you have now, or who you are in life then the only one that can make a difference to your situation or life is you. A change could mean changing your outlook on life, your outlook on yourself, your priorities or your activities, you have no one else to blame but yourself and only you have the power to change.

* What goes around comes around - you only get back in life what you are willing to put into it, if you are helpful, honest, truthful and positive then you will get the same back in return which can help you on your path to success particularly in the workplace.

* You cannot succeed alone - all successful people rely in part on others for their success, every person has different skills, talents and abilities which when combined leads to an individual's success.

* Center yourself - we all need to take time out during the day to center ourselves, by re-focusing ourselves and what we wish to achieve we are able to accomplish more and be more effective in our tasks.

* Set yourself targets or goals - setting out targets or goals for yourself can help you to succeed in anything you choose, these can be daily, short term or long term targets with short term being a month or so and long term no longer than 6 months. Always set realistic targets and give yourself a date by which to reach your target, review your targets on a regular basis to make sure they are always attainable.

* Don't strive for perfection - never try to be perfect, no one is perfect, set a standard and goal and do the task or job to the very best of your ability and be happy with that, as long as you gave it your best shot that's all you or anyone else can ask for.

* Believe in yourself - develop strategies which make you more aware of yourself and what you are capable of achieving, if you believe in yourself and what you are capable of achieving then you are more likely to be successful in whatever you do.

* Focus on what you want - focus on the positive and what it is you want to achieve instead of the negative or what it is that you don't want to achieve, always look ahead instead of back and focus only on the desired end result.

Adopting Effective Time Management Habits and Tips are Keys to Success

By Eddy Kong WW

This article is how to implement and adopt effective time management habits and tips so as to be a successful person in your life.

As more and more people are getting into a hectic lifestyle, a need to have a good time management techniques that built-in part of your life, you have to follow some simple requirements. You no longer have the luxury to waste valuable time in your day.

We can't control the way time is. We can't make it less or more. However, we can control the way we handle the spare moments in our day. We can make changes on how we use our time, and that can benefit us if we are able to get more done in one day.

Following simple time management techniques can help you get more out of life. You can pay attention to your home life, work and appointments without ignoring any one of them. It all comes down to your time management technique.

However, to adopt effective time management habits there are some things you should be doing. To begin with, you will need to use time management tools. It does not matter if you are using a paper-based to-do list system, a day timer or a complicated software program.

Step #1 - Physically managing your time

The first step to physically managing your time is to know where the time is going. You can plan how you are going to spend your time in the future because work will be done earlier. There are many different ways to set this up quickly.

What are the useful tips for effective time management

It does not matter how you keep track of everything. Just make sure you figure out some way to physically manage your time. This way you know how you are going to spend your time. You should make sure you prioritize with these tasks.

Put all of the projects you have to have done on the top of the list. The things that can wait can go on the bottom of the list. Make sure you know out of all your tasks which ones you have to accomplish. Then set the goal to how far you have to get on the list for each day.

What to do if running a single person business entity?

If your business is a one-man show, change things and hire someone to take over some of the workload for you. You should always have at least one other person to take over some of the workload and make things easier for you.

Most probably you can offload a lot of the repetitive, dull work of managing the daily routine of a business to other people - that way you can schedule your time in other forms for other projects.

Good, effective time management can help you to get the most out of your business. If you do combine with someone to help with the load, make sure they understand you make all the rules and schedules (that is, don't turn over the business to them).

With proper and effective time management, you need to establish a routine and stick to it as much as you possibly can. While things will happen to get in your way, you'll be more productive if you can follow the routine most of the time.

This way people get to know what your time frames are and this makes it easier for them to help you do what you need to get done. Another part of making sure that you actually get things done is to get in the habit of setting (and meeting) time limits for the tasks needing to be completed.

How to eliminate activities that waste time?

Reading and answering e-mail can consume a big portion of your day. Make sure you only allow a certain amount of time for checking the mail, and then ensure that you stick to that schedule.

What about talking on the phone?

If you know you are wasting too much time chatting on the Internet with people who interrupt you, make it so no one can contact you during certain hours. This way you won't be wasting your time and will be practicing effective time management.

Another good (or bad) time-waster is "looking for information". You need to be organized to have effective time management. You need to be able to have the files or information you need at your fingertips.

Make sure you set your system up so everything falls in an orderly fashion. This way you can always find something in a hurry. This will help you to speed up the progress of your project or day.

If you are stuck in an office waiting, don't waste your time. Always bring a pad of paper and a pen if you can. At the very least, you can organize your day by writing down your plans.

If it is something else you can take with you for a project, it's even better. You can control your life, but you can't control time. Get organized today and use effective time management to meet your life goals.

I desire to thank you for visiting. Go up before and look around to discover other helpful tips and information.

Even though, you may now know how to adopt effective time management habits and tips to be a successful person, but all words no actions is simply does not make your goals come true.

Take action now is the most right thing to do if you want you goals realized.
Without an effective and proper time management system, there will not be much goal-oriented lifestyle to hope for.

Understanding the fact that an effective program for time management habit may be easy to follow and implement and now allowing you to side-track is really allowing you to enjoy your life once again. So, please don't wait any longer before giving another excuse to realize your goals again.

Discover the Secret to Personal Goal Setting Success!

By Jim Klein

Living a balanced life is the key to personal goal setting success and your career success in sales. Here's a great tool to help you balance your life. Living a balanced life is the key to personal goal setting success and your career success in sales. What does it mean to live a balanced life? Balanced living starts by setting goals in all areas of your life. Goal setting has implications far beyond your career goals. In fact, people who set only business related goals decrease their odds of having a well balanced, happy life and achieving their business goals.

Let's start by measuring your life satisfaction and to identify areas that might benefit from personal goal setting.

On a piece of paper, draw a large circle. In the center of the circle, draw a very small circle. Next, draw 6 straight lines from the small circle to the large circle, like spokes on a bicycle wheel.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is the lowest and 10 the highest) ask yourself how satisfied you are with your current position in regards to; financial and career, social and cultural, spiritual and ethical, family and home, mental and educational and physical and health.

Take into account the following personal goal setting issues:

Financial and Career Do you enjoy your work? Do you feel you are making a contribution to society? Are you living up to your potential? Have you achieved a satisfactory standard of living?

Social and Cultural Does your circle of friends enhance your life and contribute to your sense of contentment and well-being? Is there at least one other person you can discuss important life issues with? Do you have interests outside of your career and family (sports, theater, outdoor events)?

Spiritual and Ethical Have you identified your specific personal values? Are you living up to those personal values? Is religion important to you? If so, are you happy with the way you are practicing your religion? If its not, what is your relationship with a higher power or with the universe in general?

Family and Home Have you realized your dream in terms of your home and family relationships?

Mental and Educational Did you accomplish the educational goals you set for yourself? Are you still growing and learning? Do you invest in your continuing education on a regular basis?

Physical and Health Are you satisfied with your current level of physical health? Are you living up to your own standards in terms of diet and exercise? Are you fit enough to do the things you want to do?

Next record your answers by putting a mark on each spoke under the respective categories. Assign the innermost notch on the wheel a value of one, and the outer ring a value of ten. After you have marked all of the spokes, connect your marks, creating your own "wheel." Congratulations to those whose wheel is round and hugs the outer edge of the figure. Chances are that you are reasonably happy and are living a fairly balanced life. However, any other shaped/configured wheel suggests room for growth.

For example, if your circle is lopsided, the low score(s) identify the area(s) in which you need to focus your personal goal-setting efforts. If your wheel is round but small, that's okay. Your life is in balance you just need to set goals in all areas of your life in order to expand your wheel and achieve greater general satisfaction.

Repeat this process on a regular basis until your wheel meets your own standard of success. However, don't stop there. Life doesn't stand still. If you not moving forward then you're loosing ground. Stretch your personal goal setting. Get out of your comfort zone and set new and challenging goals.

The Lazy Man's Guide to Success and Becoming a Millionaire

By: Nickolove Lovemore

I recently heard a story about a man called Bob who worked for a company but was known to be extremely lazy. Despite this, whenever a new project came up that needed to be systemized, his employer would give him the project to do. One day, Bob plucked up the courage to ask why he was assigned all the new projects. His employer smiled and said to him,

"Bob, it's because I know that you'll find the simplest, fastest and most effective way to do it and in that way I can develop a successful system for doing such tasks in the future."

Usually, you hear that you should build your strengths and manage your weaknesses but, if you're strategic, you can turn your weaknesses to your advantage. In this case, Bob's employer was astute enough to recognise that Bob's laziness actually made him very efficient at what he did. It also made him a master at using his time effectively. He found ways to do tasks quickly so that he could spend more time doing what he enjoyed.

Another person who has turned his laziness to his advantage is author, publisher and small business expert, Marc Allen. He has a fascinating life story which I won't go into detail here but, when he turned 30, he took a long, hard look at his life. It had been fun and enriching without making him wealthy. So he visualised what his ideal life would look like. He realised that he wanted to write books and music, start a company that would publish his material successfully and, most important of all, he wanted to achieve his goals in an easy and relaxed manner and in a healthy and positive way.

One of the authors that really inspired Marc Allen was James Allen who wrote in his book "As a Man Thinketh" that:

"You will become as small as your controlling desire; as great as your dominant aspiration."

Marc's vision consumed his imagination and he went from being a penniless, California dreamer to becoming a multi-millionaire through his publishing empire.

However, Marc is not one of those entrepreneurs who works long hours. His style is much more laid back and relaxed. He epitomises what financial freedom can do for you. He works when he chooses, is seldom in his office before noon and spends ample time with his family and doing activities that he loves. He became a multi-millionaire doing things his way.

One of the reasons his publishing company is so successful is because he is adept at presenting material in different formats, for different niches so that anyone will find the material to be accessible and practical.

But here's the thing. When Marc started out he knew nothing about the publishing business but remember the book "As a Man Thinketh"? Well, he decided to republish this rare book and this act became one of the corner stones of his multi-million publishing empire though he did not know it would become so at the time.

There are several lessons to be learnt here including:

1. You don't need to know how you're going to achieve your goalYou just need to identify what it is you want and then start taking steps towards achieving that goal. In particular, when you have an inspired thought or a gut instinct to do something - TAKE ACTION!

2. You become what you think aboutWhat are your most dominant thoughts? Are they positive? Are they moving you in the direction of your goals or are they debilitating you? You can either learn to master your thoughts or you can allow your thoughts to master you. Your thoughts are powerful. Learn how to be empowered by your thoughts if you want to achieve MASSIVE SUCCESS.

3. Success can be achieved in a healthy and positive way. Many people achieve a measure of success but in a manner that is not balanced. This is not true success and the cost is often way too high. Heath and family relationships are often casualties. Evaluate your lifestyle so that you can achieve success in all areas of your life and have fun while doing so.

4. Your weaknesses can be hidden strengthsObjectively examine your weaknesses and see how they might be used to your advantage. For instance, being lazy can result in you finding easy ways to complete tasks thereby increasing your efficiency. Alternatively, it can help you to find ways of generating sufficient income so that you can pay someone else to do the things you don't enjoy doing. Now isn't that everyone's ideal lifestyle?

What Is This "Law Of Attraction You Deserve What You Want" Junk?

By: Dwayne Gilbert

There is a huge amount of talk within the law of attraction realm about opening up and deserving what you want. The truth about this whole deserving thing is simple. Most people DO NOT deserve what they want, and they most likely never will.

I hear way to much talking about people deserving to be rich, or have love, or find success within the personal development and law of attraction circle. The truth of the matter is that most people don't deserve what they want, and they never will.

How can I say this about people, especially people I don't even know? Simple! I pay attention to what people are really saying and base my opinion on that.

First of all, there doesn't need to be so much written about people deserving what they want and all this other hoopla out there. There are literally hundreds of pages written within the law of attraction community about opening up and deserving what you want and desire, and most of it is junk.

The reason this is true is simple. Those who deserve to have what they want are out there doing what they need to do to get it and those who don't deserve it aren't. I just summed it all up in one sentence.

Each and every single one of us was born with the right to have, do, and be anything we want and desire. Those who deserve to have what they desire are the ones who are doing what they have to in order to manifest and attract those things into their lives. They are taking the time to learn and grow and practice keeping their thoughts and emotions on those things they want.

Those who don't deserve to have what they desire simply don't put the time and energy into attracting it. The universe couldn't have been any more clear and precise about who does and does not deserve to have what they want, to do what they want, and to be what they choose.

So take the time to take stock in yourself, your thoughts, your words, and your actions. Are you taking the time to practice using the law of attraction in order to attract and manifest those things you desire into your life? Or are you doing things that don't contribute to your success and your desire to have, do, and be what you want.

You will deserve what you want and desire when you take the time to invest in your education. When you start buying books that will teach you how to manifest and attract those things you want. When you invest the time to study that material and start actually applying it to your daily life.

I'm not saying this is an easy task. Simple, yes, but not necessarily easy. It takes time, money, and energy in order to deserve what you want and desire. It takes an effort on your part to study, to practice, to apply, to go out into the world and fail again and again in order to move forward and learn.

Those who don't deserve to have what they desire will never get it, and they don't deserve to have it simply because they aren't willing to invest what it takes to have it. Sadly, most people would rather stay where they are than do what it takes to get to where they want to be.

So that sums it all up in a nutshell. Those who deserve to have what they want don't need books upon books to tell them they deserve it. They are out there doing the do and getting what they want to have, do, and be. Those who don't deserve what they want do need thousands of pages to convince them that they deserve it because they aren't willing and aren't doing what is necessary to get what they want to have, do, and be.

Here are some definitions of success:

It is the favorable outcome of an action.
It is growth, development, improvement and getting better.
It is achieving what you have set out to do.
Getting good grades at school.
Passing your driving test.
Getting the job you wanted.
You feel it when someone you love tells you that he/she loves you too.
It is the pleasant and powerful feeling of achievement.
You experience it when you win or earn a large sum of money.

Becoming famous.
It is all these things and many more.

You may enjoy it in the small daily events of life, and you can find it in great achievements.

Some seek it in money and material possessions, and others seek it in inner peace and strength. Some seek it in both.

What does it mean to you? Do you expect it? Do you believe you can attain it, and what do you plan to do in order to enjoy it?

Remember, success is not only something spectacular. It manifests also in the small things of daily life. You can enjoy it many times, every day.

You might desire to gain a large sum of money, become the owner of successful firm, become a successful and famous actor, singer or writer, a great inventor, senator, president or a prime minister.

Your goal might be to succeed in inner work and meditation, gain psychic power, mind power or peace of mind and spiritual awakening.

Some just desire a carefree life, health, love and happiness, and to have a good job with a good pay to enable them to live comfortably.

Achieving Your Dreams And Goals Turning dreams into reality

By Remez Sasson

Achieving your dreams and goals depends on several factors:

1. You should have a specific goal.2. You have to be sure that you really want to achieve your goal.3. You need to have a clear mental image of your goal.4. You need a strong desire.5. You need to disregard and reject doubts and thoughts about failure.6. Show confidence and faith and persevere until you gain success
How many people fulfill all the above-mentioned requirements? Just a few! Most people do not know that there are some laws governing success, which should be followed.

It is so easy and simple to daydream and then say, "Well it is just a daydream. It will never come true". It is so easy to give up due to lack of faith.

Achieving your goals shouldn't be a tough ordeal. In fact, it can be fun and pleasure, if you go in the right way. It is not hard physical work that brings success. Great success does not require hard physical labor. In fact, you need to do mental work.

Visualization and repeating affirmations make up this mental work, and are important stepping stones to achieving success. When you visualize and affirm you focus and channel your energies toward your goal. Your mind is geared toward finding solutions to bring your goal into manifestation.

By thinking in a positive manner on your goal, and not letting any doubts enter your mind, your intuition starts working, you see opportunities, and you have energy at your disposal to follow your goals and dreams.

Some people listen to subliminal messages, for programming their minds for success. There are many CD's available today, which implant subliminal messages into the mind, so as to activate its power. Some people prefer to use them, because this does not require any effort on their part. It is said that these subliminal messages, which go straight to the subconscious mind, bring faster results. Maybe they do, but then you have no control on what goes into your mind.

When you visualize and affirm your goals or write down, you gain much more then just programming your mind passively with subliminal messages. The attention, intention and energy you channel toward visualizing and affirming, develop in you inner strength, concentration, willpower and self-discipline. You actively develop your inner powers.

One of the advantages of visualization and affirmations is that you can use them wherever you are, at any time, without the necessity of any external instruments. All you need is your mind.

Success appears in various ways, sometimes in a miraculous way, sometimes in an ordinary way, and sometimes through an opportunity that appears. A door opens, but you have to get in and take advantage of the opportunity.

Correctly following these methods will bring you more ambition, inspiration and motivation, which would enhance your chances of success.

Remember, there are big goals and there are many small daily goals, which visualization and affirmations can make them easier and faster to achieve.

People often erroneously think that goals mean only big goals, such as:becoming wealthy, getting an expensive car, possessing a big house with a swimming pool, building a very successful business.

The truth is that the following are no less important goals:getting to work on time, spending more time with the family, reading a book, going to see a movie, eating less.

How do you visualize and affirm? Are there any special rules and instructions?Yes, there are!Like any other subject, if you want to do it right you need to study it right. It is simple and easy to learn to achieve success through visualization and affirmations. Anyone can learn to use them right. Browse the website, and you will find a lot of practical and useful information.

Empowerment Changes Your Life Forever

By Lisa Whatley

Perhaps you are asking, "What is personal empowerment?"

Put in simplistic terms, empowerment is freeing yourself from limitations or living a life of misery and taking full responsibility for every thing that is in your life. It’s about quitting making excuses for things that aren’t going right in your life and DOING something about changing them! It’s about choices; the choices that you make on a daily basis regarding all aspects of your life. It’s about being in control of what you allow in your life; who you associate with, what you read, what you watch on television and at the movies, who your mentors are, what music you listen to, what you eat, etc. Why are these choices so important to empowerment … you literally ARE your choices.

A general definition: empowerment is a process that helps people gain control over their own lives.

Therefore, empowerment is about learning there are choices, in which you have the right to be the healthiest and happiest person you can be in this now. The past is the past and it cannot be changed, therefore the focus is placed upon what you can do in this very moment. What choices you can make to empower yourself NOW. As you exercise your choices and take responsibility and action, you will gain increased control over your life. I had a million excuses for everything crummy in my life. I even blamed my addictions to cigarettes, drugs and alcohol on other people. I blamed everyone for everything because that enabled me to justify in my own mind that it was ok. I was slowly killing myself to avoid having to face my problems, the exact problems that I was creating by the choices that I was making. It’s a vicious cycle, but empowerment can change it!

Let’s take a look at a list of empowerment key words:

• Self-Mastery • Personal Development • Positive Thinking • Mind Power • Self Improvement • Spiritual Growth • Enlightenment • Responsibility • Law of Attraction • Self-Power • Self-Acceptance • Self-Reliance • Self-Esteem • Self-Discovery • Self-Strength • Self-Love • Self-Confidence • Self-Control • Own Choice • Independence • Own Decision Making • Being Free • Awakening • Capability • Choices • Power Into Action

This is a small list but as you can see it’s a list that outlines qualities that cannot be found outside of ourself because empowerment comes from within. I was looking outside of myself. That is where I went wrong and were millions of others are going wrong too. When we activate this power within ourselves we have the strength and courage to make choices and act on issues that we define as important. These issues can relate to any and all areas of our life – relationship, financial, personal, spiritual and physical. It’s very important to understand that empowerment is a multi-dimensional process which includes all levels of our being: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual and each of these areas must be brought into balance.

The empowerment process may be facilitated and supported through outside sources such as utilizing the assistance of a person specializing in life coaching, learning energy healing and mind techniques, attending self-help groups and seminars, home study programs, reading books, etc. It is very important that these programs teach you and give you the skills on how to do these things independently for yourself after the program has been completed. You are looking for independence not co-dependency within the system because empowerment is a process that develops as we work through it. It is impossible to dabble in empowerment expecting life changing results. It must become a path, journey, life style or way of life for complete liberation of all pain and suffering.

I have a "rags to riches" true life story. I learnt how to overcome poverty, addictions and abuse to create the life that I once thought was completely impossible for me to have. I have beaten the odds because I dared to believe and listen ONLY TO MYSELF, which IS the power within! Guess what I have accomplished since I learnt the secret of self-mastery and empowerment? I’m now a successful entrepreneur, a published writer, an international life coach, energy healer and empowerment specialist. Not too bad for a once was "high-school dropout, sexually and physically abused, druggie, alcoholic, welfare case" huh? That’s what empowerment is! It’s about making choices that improve the quality of your life.

With empowerment comes wisdom and by wisdom I do not mean knowledge of facts so much as the ability to perceive and understand facts, and to judge soundly and act right in all matters relating to life. Wisdom is the power to perceive truth, and the ability to make the best use of the knowledge of truth.
With wisdom comes poise, and the power to think right, to control and guide your thoughts, and to avoid the difficulties which come from wrong thinking. With wisdom you will be able to select the right courses for your particular needs, and to guide yourself in all ways as to secure the best results.

The beauty of empowerment is the ripple effect. Through personal empowerment you have the potential through leading by example to teach those around you to empower themselves as well! You not only manage to change yourself but also contribute to changing the lives of your children, family and friends. You have the ability to break the chain of poverty, addictions, abuse and suffering within your own family. You are able to show them that where you once were powerless you were able to gain full control over your life improving your situation by taking full responsibility and action over your own mastery. This will show them that it can be done, because YOU did it! You lead by example and your children are only learning and repeating what you teach them. Lead them into empowerment.

So what can be more empowering than gaining control over self? I invite you to start today, right NOW! Send an email to thelatestbuzz@getresponse.com to start receiving a FREE Self Improvement Gift Package.

Get It Done

By Dennis Harting

What separates the successful from the rest of the crowd: the successful get things done. Basically, the achiever provide results while the unsuccessful offer up excuses. In the path to success, there are no excuses. Ultimately, the task was either completed or it was not. There are no other possibilities.

Sports offers excellent examples for anything dealing with success. What makes most athletic events attractive is the fact there is a clear cut winner at the end. One team wins while the other loses. Certainly there are times when disputes occur. Perhaps there was a poor call that changed the outcome of the game. It is interesting to watch the caliber of coaches after the game. The ones who are top notch rarely will blame the loss on one play. While they might acknowledge that it was a factor, they will also point to a lot of other opportunities that their team failed to take advantage of. Of course, those coaches who do bemoan the officials usually end up out of a job in a short period of time. The reason being is they are in the habit of passing the responsibility on to someone else. This is a losers mindset.

Winners, whether it is in sports or life, take responsibility for the outcomes they receive. It is the only way to maintain some power in one's life. As long as an individual chooses to blame others, those people need to be changed before anything can take place. Of course, this is completely unrealistic. However, when one takes the onus for the outcome upon him or herself, instantly that person has the ability to change the consequences in the future. For example, as long as the officials are the reason that a football team loses, that team will not win until there is a change in the referees. Yet, a team that focuses their attention on all the other areas of the game that they misplayed will be able to make adjustments to move towards winning. The same holds true for you in your life.

Doing those things that you say you are going to do is a terrific starting point. Too many people fail to uphold their word by not following through. The highly successful always follow through on those things they promised. This is what builds trust, a vital component for success. Having the trust of others will enable you to enlist the services of others. Many people find that they need to walk the path towards success alone since others cannot depend upon them. A way to avoid this is to get done whatever you say that you will. Resist any temptation to offer up excuses for failing to do this. This places the responsibility on something outside yourself. Put the onus back upon yourself by doing whatever is necessary to complete the task. This is a winner's mindset.

How does one go about making a change in behavior that was fostered over decades. Begin by doing all the little things that you tell others about. It matters little if you can 'get away with not completing it'. Certainly there are a lot of task that as so unimportant that the outcome impacts us only slightly. However, we are concentrating on the behavior more than the importance of the activity. Keeping our word in all our affairs is a tremendous way to build trust among others. People are always looking for people that they can count on. This is true regardless of the organization. Employers want to have employees that they can rely upon to get things done. Lovers want someone they can turn to in a time of need. Anywhere that people are involved with a common purpose, dependable people tend to stand out. Do you want to be one of those people? If so, start by adopting this simple philosophy: In everything I do, I either got it done or I did not; there are no excuses.

When Bad Things Happen To Good People: Know What To Do

By Cucan Pemo

Most of us like to blame others for the misfortunes in our lives. We like to think that bad things happen to us, rather than because of us.

But this is not necessarily so. While we can not control what happens around us, we can control who we are and what we think.

And in doing so, we can create the life we want to live, or we can stand in the way of our own success.

In truth, we change every part of our world ' whether for good or for bad.

1) Warning signs that you are in your own way

As hard as it might be for us to admit, we play a large role in the outcome of our lives.

Even science has proven this fact. When we change the way we think, we change the vibration of our atoms in our bodies which then change the interaction with the rest of the atoms in the world.

While this might seem far-fetched, the truth is that we affect everything around us ' even if we can't see that we are.

To help illuminate you, here are some warning signs that you might be getting in the way of your own dreams:

a) You know what you want, but can't seem to get it
b) You feel like you should give up hope
c) You don't feel like you deserve the thing you want
d) You seem to be trapped in a bad cycle of events
e) You're repeating the same behaviors or relationships

When you start to see some of these signs, it might be time to change the way that you're looking at your life as well as how you are reacting to it.

2) Are you breaking these laws?

The laws of attraction are all around us. Whatever we do to someone else will generally come back to us, whatever negative energy we give off, that will also be returned to us.

You might simplify that in like attracts like. When you don't realize these laws in your life, you can put yourself into situations that aren't going to help you get more out of your experience.

These laws create the ultimate responsibility for you: whatever you are thinking or doing, you are creating the increased or decreased chance for things to be better.

When you stop to think about it right now, you can probably see how you are negatively affecting your life.

A simple example is thinking that you are never going to get a new job. That kind of thinking leads to your not looking for a new job in the first place, thus you're not getting a new job.

3) What happens when you put out negative energy?

Negative energy can almost be likened to a virus in the way that it spreads. You feel this when you're with a group of negative people.

Once one person starts to complain about their lives, everyone else feels they need to do so as well. But if one person points out their happiness, the others will start to see the happiness as well.

The point is that you can create your life and your dreams by changing the way that you think and the negative energy that you have in your behavior and your mind.

4) Turning the sinking ship around

Changing the way you think is not as hard as you might think. What you need to simply do is become aware of the way that you are thinking and then decide if it is helping you or not.

In many cases, you will find that your thinking is not very helpful, so you will want to change it somehow. This requires trying to find the 'bright side' to the things and the beliefs that you have in your mind.

When you have a negative thought, you might simply ask yourself quietly, is this helping me or is this hurting me?

By stopping to notice your thought, you are causing it to weaken. And that creates the opportunity for you to change the way you live.

Everyone thinks something negative during the day, but it's how we relate to that thought that will create a better or worse existence.

If you want to live your dreams and have the things you want in your life, you need to believe that you can have them. You need to create positive energy more times than not and get out of your own way.

And changing your mind is the first step.

Understanding Law of Attraction

By Stephen C Campbell

There are many definitions and descriptions of The Law of Attraction. However, it has generally been associated with theories, beliefs and practices of the New Age and New Thought. It is completely based on thought process and people can control their lives through thoughts. People can have physical or emotional experiences corresponding to their prime words, actions, feelings and thoughts and due to this people are able to control real life situations.

The emotions, actions, beliefs, feelings, conscious thoughts and unconscious thoughts of a person attract subsequent negative or positive experiences. These are the vibrations or sensations of the law of attraction. Thus, it says that "your experiences are determined by your thoughts", or in other words it can be said that "you will be getting the thing that what you are thinking about". This idea of law of attraction has been popular Hindu, Buddhist, Greek and Jewish philosophies in the ancient times. So the various sayings like - "you shall reap whatever you sow", karma, "a man is what he thinks in his heart" and "like attracts like" hold true for it.

Features of the Law of Attraction

The deeper meaning of all these sayings is that we ourselves are responsible for the circumstances in our lives and those surrounding our lives as well. In the early 19th century, this became popular as thought vibration and the concept has been widely accepted as mental science or positive thinking or practical metaphysics or New Thought. This has been accepted by many as a guideline for right or correct way of living. This guideline has a spiritual basis and faith is an important component of the law of attraction.

The modern believers feel that law of attraction has scientific basis and thought energy attracts like energy. For controlling this energy, you must know what you want from the universe. Then you must ask the universe for the same. You ought to focus your thoughts on the desired thing with good and positive feelings of gratitude and enthusiasm. You must behave and feel as if you've already achieved the desired object and be receptive for getting the same. The main features of this are a strong desire, definite decision, enthusiasm, belief, sincere work and feelings of gratitude and expectancy. This also depends on spiritual values, prayers, strong faith, satisfaction, enjoyment and happiness.

Criticism to the Law of Attraction

There has been a lot of criticism regarding the law of attraction. The scientific basis of this has been questioned with regards to its validity. Many people feel that there is no proper methodology for defining the law of attraction. Some people feel that if we can transform situations as per our thoughts, then why is the world afflicted with so much of poverty, starvation, sufferings and death.

Despite all the criticisms, many people feel that the law of attraction is very instrumental to being successful in life.

Success Factor of Law of Attraction

By Stephen C Campbell

Law of attraction stands to be a universal force that helps you attract whatever you focus your attention on. This power allows us to make their emotions and thoughts come true to reality. Right from beginning of creation of this law-of-attraction, it has been existent. There are many great people who have been practicing this law for a long time. Most of the people practice this universal law, including Oprah practices this law-of-attraction. We can get anything that we like or wants using this law-of- attraction. We need to think, focus, believe, and attain excellent amount of self confidence. Then one can very easily manifest this law of attraction. This law is applicable for most of the attempts that we intend to make. We can sow the seeds of one's desires, dreams and create one's own personal tree, once the law of attraction is clear.

Universal law

Many people struggle to enjoy the success of this law of attraction. People who apply this law-of-attraction must know everything about it in order to attain maximum amount of advantage and maximum effectiveness. However, the law of attraction does not completely rely on the simple formula of ask, believe and receive. In order to unleash the complete power of this universal law, one needs to do various things. We should declare our intension and feel as if it is already achieved.

If we want be the best author, we should keep repeating that he or she is the best author throughout the day. If this is practiced with strong belief, emotion, and conviction then one can acquire the best. If we happen to say any negative statement then one should change the mind immediately. It is necessary for one to be completely positive also free from pessimistic toxins.

One needs to visualize everything that is in one's mind. he needs to believe that everything is already apparent. Feel the happiness in your body, mind, and soul of having your dream come true. It is often suggested to create a vision board, as this would surely help enhancing visual faculty. he should help oneself as self help is the best help. If he believes in 'karma', one would know well that if he does good deeds he will get back good in return. However, only day dreaming and not working would not help. He need to work only then universe would help one. If you open up then the law-of-universe, law-of-attraction would allow receiving abundance that the universe would supply.
Success key

The law-of-attraction would work only if one knows how to use it correctly. One must know all about it before implication for better results. If the law of universe is known well then there are few chances for one to fail. Apply all the principles in order to manifest everything that you had only been dreaming of. One can achieve the desire of turning all the dreams into reality. One can succeed only by understanding the law and its implications correctly.

The Law Of Attraction & Goal Setting

By Stephen C Campbell

The basics of Goal Setting is an open secret known by top-caliber athletes, successful businessmen and businesswomen and all types of achievers in all the different fields from politics to acting. Accessing the subconscious mind and firmly implanting your goals there is critical to ensuring you will achieve those goals. Getting to grips with setting goals and invoking the law of attraction will give you short-term and long-term motivation and focus. They will help you set focus on the acquisition of required knowledge and help you to plan and organize your resources and your time so that you can get the best out of your life.

Consider this : The one thing high acheivers and self made millionaires have in common is the mastery of their minds - the most direct path to developing such mental mastery is to get to grips with your subconscious mind , Each one of us have billions and billions of brain cells at our disposal to aid us with our goal setting , Our subconscious mind is at work twenty four hours a day controlling our digestive systems as well as our breathing - we should take advantage of this knowledge to get the law of attraction working for us.

Goal setting and the use of your subconscious mind should be used in conjunction with the law of attraction to focus on various areas of your life - here are some to consider :-

1. Your family should never be left out of your plans. If you are just starting out then you have to decide if you want to be a parent or when you want to be a parent. You also have to know if you really would be a good parent and how well would you relate to extended family members.

2. Personal financial situations also play a major role in achieving your goals. Have a realistic goal on how much you really want to earn. You also must be able to create plans or stages by which you will be able to reach your earning potential.

3. Physically gifted individuals may be able to achieve sports related goals like being in the National Basketball association or National Football League. Determining your physical capabilities should be one of your priorities. Physical limitations could however be conquered with proper planning.

No matter what area of life your current goal setting is focused you will need to ensure that you are constantly invoking the law of attraction by using your subconscious mind effectively; various tools and techniques should be used such as the use of subliminal recordings.

Consider this : One neuron in your brain may be linked to as many as 50000 others; the brain is estimated to contain over 100 trillion connections. The total number of connections is higher than the number of atoms in the universe. Why not take advantage of this resource invoke the law of attraction and use your subconscious mind to aid in your goal setting ?

To start achieving your lifetime dreams by using goal setting, harnessing the power of your subconscious mind and invoking the law of attraction, set a quarter of a century plan, then break it down to 5 year plans then break it down again to 1 year plans, then 6 month plans then monthly plans, then weekly, then daily. Then create a things-to-do list for the day. Always review your plans and prepare for contingencies. The basics of goal setting should not be so difficult once you get to be familiar with them and with the use of subliminal recording you can readily address various areas of your life.

10 Tips for Year End and Success Ahead

By Nicole Isler

Here it is the close of another year gone by. With the last days of 2007 lingering, perhaps you're asking yourself how to make this upcoming year even better for you. Here are my ten tips to help you with that.

1) Complete. What needs to be done by year end? Review your projects and make a task list. This list should include things like phone calls, year end reports, data entry, year end inventory, client follow up, thank you cards, clerical work (filing, create new files, replace torn files, inactivate or systemize files, etc), tax preparation, accounts receivable (send bills, letters of forgiveness, send to collections or adjust off), and pay your outstanding bills. Why go in to the New Year with things from 2007? Complete what you can now so you can start the New Year fresh and focused.

2) Purge. What better time to clean then year end? If it's old, broken, torn or out of date...throw it out! Look around your home and office for areas of clutter, old signs, post-it notes and anything that's worn out or collected dust! Search your computer files and delete what you don't use or need. Throw out old advertisements, magazines, product information, forms you no longer use or have updated, clothes you don't wear, non-supportive habits, negative thinking, old leads that never responded to your calls, perhaps even a draining relationship! Out with the old and ready for the new!

3) Organize. How quickly can you find things? During your busiest time what slows you down? When you think about your home or office what drains you? That will tell you how organized you really are, and what you need to work on. What systems have worked for you in the past? Or, perhaps you need new systems for greater effectiveness. Think of your home or office in categories, just like shopping at the store. Start to create "departments" when finding a place for things. Research or hire a professional to help you if you don't know where to start. Less chaos and clutter means more order and focus.

4) Reflect. Now is the perfect time to look back and appreciate all you've accomplished, and take note of perhaps where you fell short. What challenges did you face? Did you overcome those challenges? What did you learn in the process? What can you do better than you could do before? Review your monthly office statistics for the previous 2 years and compare. What were your slow times? When were you, most busy and what did you do previous to generate that activity, or lack of? How can you plan better for those times in the upcoming year so you feel more proactive than reactive? Share this information with your family, friends and your team at work.

5) Identify. What worked well in 2007? What didn't work at all? What are your strong points personally and professionally? Where do you feel most challenged? It's important to assess what you have accomplished, what worked best and certainly what needs improvement. Realize that your strengths will lead you, but you can only grow as strong as your weaker area allows. It's so important to identify what to keep, what to get rid of and what to improve on.

6) Maintain. What worked best in your life and in your business operations? Continue with the habits, relationships, and systems that brought you success and progress. What keeps you on track and in harmony? Be sure to include it in your routine as the new year gets under way.

7) Improve. What can you add, revise or update to get you to the next level of success? This is an important step to increase your efficiency. Is there an area you need or would like more training in? Does your office or home equipment need to be replaced or upgraded? Is your computer slow or does it need more memory? Is your car running smooth? How's your health? What can you do to feel better? Do you need a touch up on your personal or professional appearance? Does your employee manual, mission or culture statement need revision? Do your office forms need revision? Are there things you've been meaning to fix or replace but have been putting off? It's the perfect time for a make over, upgrade, improvement or replacement. Walk through your day and make note of anything that you can improve on.

8) Visualize. If there were no limits and you could not not fail, what would you want in 2008? What do you want your life and business to look like? How would that make you feel? Who do you need to be to make it happen?
Visualization is one of the greatest tools for achievement. Your mind does not know the difference between what is reality and what you create as reality so make it good! What if you were creating your future with the very thought you have right now? (Thoughts are things so choose good ones!) Get crystal clear on what you want, picture it in your mind and act as if you already have it. Realize your goals in your mind and ultimately your life will transform.

9) Create. Now that you can see and feel what you want, it's time to create a plan to make it happen. If you think it, ink it! Write out your goals and every action step you can think of to go with every goal. Create a vision board full of pictures, words and phrases to remind you of what you really want. Just like planning a vacation, plan your year ahead. Breakdown your yearly goals by month, week and day to work backwards to create your action steps that will move you toward your desired outcome! What tools, resources, etc, do you need on this journey? Make a list of who you need to talk to, meet or be to make it happen. Write affirmations on notes to post where you can see them every day. Create your future as you want it!

10) Implement. What's left? ACTION! It's time to put all your effort, energy, improvements, vision and planning to work. Include your action steps in your every day to-do list. Block time in your calendar to work on these steps. Ask yourself questions to keep on track. Is what I'm working on right now moving me toward my goals or farther away? Am I inventing things to do to avoid the important? Take action in every moment to progress toward your desired outcome. A goal is the end in which effort is directed. So take your plan and implement as many actions steps as you can to move you toward your goals faster. If you have new resources and systems to use there's no better time to start using them than right now.

If I can assist you with these tips to get you off to a strong start in 2008, please contact me. Continued success to you!

Can Developing Your Willpower Help You Be Successful In Life?

By Kevin Sinclair

Yes, indeed, if you develop your willpower, you can definitely be more successful in life. In fact, the two are directly related. No one can underestimate the power of willpower in helping you achieve your goals.

Even though we hear often about the importance of good education, in fact, it's not the lack of it that causes most failure. There are many people with little to no formal education who have in fact become millionaires, while many people with Ivy League degrees muddle along in dead-end jobs, or worse. In fact, it's willpower, not a degree per se, that can determine your chances for success.

Of course, basic education is important; simply because it helps you get along in society. However, just as important and perhaps more important is the fact that you see yourself succeeding and will pick yourself up and try again to matter how many times you fail in the first place. It's a proven fact that both Henry Ford and Harry Truman had failed in everything they had done before they established their particular places in history: Ford with his invention of the assembly line and subsequent mass-produced and cheaply built car, and Harry Truman first as a senator and with a brief stint as Vice President, finally becoming President of the United States.

Just as with any type of skill, willpower and determination take time and practice to develop. Just as you train the physical body for a marathon, so, too, you see yourself succeeding in your mind. As you continue these visualizations, reality meets imagination halfway. Providing you've laid the groundwork before as well, success is almost inevitable.

In essence, self-mastery of your mind must become a habit. Practice daily and gradually build up confidence and resistance to failure, even as you keep your eyes open and maintain common sense so as not to be foolhardy. With self-mastery comes accomplishment, and ultimately, success.

In fact, you don't need to be a genius to succeed. Most people are not born Albert Einstein or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Most people have ordinary IQs, but what they have that the next person doesn't is determination and the willingness to practice until perfect. Keep trying, even if drudgery sets in short-term. It's the practice that makes the difference.

In fact, Henry Ward Beecher was a master of accomplishment, and when asked what his secret was, he said, "I don't do more, but less than others. They do all their work three times. Once in anticipation, once in actuality, and once in rumination. I do mine in actuality alone, so I end up doing things just once."

Basically, Beecher could concentrate perfectly on what he was doing at any given moment without distraction. Most of us, try though we might, are at least distracted somewhat with random thoughts, worry about another project other than the one we're working on, or other mind distractions we would better do without in a given moment. If you put those aside until such time as you can take care of them with similar singular focus, it's much more efficient and your success is much more guaranteed. Therefore, one of the biggest secrets to being successful is the ability to focus all of your attention on one thing at a time.

A note about worry: Even though worry seems like it's inevitable, in fact, it's mostly a habit. Most things you worry about will never happen, which makes this a wasted practice; and if, in fact, a worry does in fact manifest in reality, there's usually nothing you could have done about it before hand. If you simply can't put your worries to rest, them down on a piece of paper, tuck it away, and promise yourself that you will focus on those worries with your full attention in their own time. With this done, you can free yourself of the worries that would normally plague you and focus on the task at hand. If you don't do this, worry will only drain you, for no good effect. It can suck your energy away for no good reason, reduce your chances of success and make you and those around you miserable.

By focusing on a given task at a time, you exponentially increase your chances of success and what you can achieve. As soon as you can learn this, the better, because it's a sure way to overcome one very big hurdle that can slow you down and prevent you from attaining the success you deserve.

Finally, choose your activities carefully and don't juggle too many things at once. It's much more efficient than to focus on one important task at a time than it is to focus on several relatively unimportant ones. In fact, multitasking does not make you more efficient, in most cases. It makes you less efficient. The more you focus, the more you can get done. Most importantly, persistence is what will keep you moving forward and get you to the goals you so desire. Again, focus is the key.

The Magic Formula to Success

By John Paul Dumas, Sr.

Success is the combination of many ingredients among these being...strength of character, passion for life, visualizing victory and having faith in yourself and the boundless abundance of the Universe.

Each of us has the ability to be, do and have ANYTHING we desire. You are the Creators of your ideal life. We are given at every turn in our lives the opportunity to access the path we are going on. Be smart, look ahead and ask; "Is this path of least resistance?" if the answer is no...make the change NOW.
You can have it all by doing these simple three things:

  • Ask
  • Believe
  • Receive
That is it...that is all there is to it...Success is given to those who ask, act and are grateful for the gift given to them. Be open to all possibilities, you are only limited by YOUR believing in the positive outcome of any situation...it is a UNIVERSAL LAW.

I have so many instances of "creating my life" or situations or people who make make life closer to where I want to go. The first and foremost is meeting my wife, Amy.

I projected for many years before I met her the following affirmation to myself (daily)..I AM meeting the women of my dreams, who is all that I ask for; loving, beautiful, caring, considerate and most of all willing to be my companion on this journey through life. Yes, low and behold by ASKING, it was granted, I BELIEVED and in the end I RECEIVED. It works...it is all about vibrationally matching your thoughts to your desired outcome.

Decide here and now what you desire your life to be...set out to match your thoughts with your actions. Work daily on making it a reality, read books, study successful people and align your thoughts with your ideal life and be amazed and astonished at what will unfold before you...I believe in your power, so must you.

I wish you much success and continue to visualize victory in your life...Believe like you have never believed before!

To your continued success and purpose-driven life!

Success and the New Year

By George F Franks III

At the end of every year, along with the television advertising and Christmas music are the end of the year wrap-up shows. The best of... The worst of... The top... This is not one of those articles. No. We are going to focus on how to be more successful in 2008. While there are "silver bullets" when it comes to success, following these steps will make nearly anyone more successful that they would be otherwise. Whether you work for a big or small company, a non-profit organization or even a government institution, following these steps will but you in the company of the leaders and top performers wherever you work and whatever you do for a living.

Review Your Objectives

Most companies and organizations have their objectives down to each employee either by the end of the year or by early in the New Year. If you have input to the creation of your objectives - that is great. Take the opportunity very seriously and work on it with your boss. If you do not have input in your objectives, make sure you go over them with you boss and understand exactly:

• What is expected of you
• What are the measures
• How often you are measured
• Who determines whether you meet your objectives
• What is quantitative and what is qualitative

This may take several sessions with your supervisor. These are the most important meetings you will attend during the entire year. And always make sure that you have it in writing and that your boss signs and dates your objectives. Otherwise, she may say they were preliminary or they changed and you will have nothing to prove otherwise.

Understand Your Compensation Plan

Understanding your compensation plan - even if you are on salary rather than a sales or other leveraged compensation plan is a important as reviewing your objectives. Many compensation plans include salary, individual bonus, and team award and if there is stock - some form of stock option awards. Review with your supervisor how the compensation plan works, is driven and what determines if you get a raise and how much, if you get a bonus and how much and so on. Do not accept someone pointing you to a Human Resources web site. It is important that you AND your supervisor understand how you will be rewarded for your success (beyond certificates and a pat on the back).

Be the Expert

No matter your functions or your level in the organization, make sure you know more about your area of expertise than anyone else. If someone comes to you to answer a question or solve a problem and you plead ignorance - they won't come back again. You may have heard that "no one likes a know-it-all". Well that is NOT the case when it comes to your professional. You are paid to know it all. And you must know all of that for your business or organization and more to be successful.

Find a Mentor

Companies and other organizations are on and off about formal mentoring programs. If your company has a formal mentoring program and you do not have a mentor - then ask your supervisor why and take whatever steps are necessary to get one. Even better, find someone at least two levels above your organizationally, someone who is respected and successful, and meet with them to discuss their becoming your mentor. Realize a good mentoring relationship will take time for both of you. If the person responds "no" you can either move on or be persistent. But regardless, you need to have what the Navy calls "a sea Daddy" to help you along with your career. From their perspective - and their network - they will see things that you will not be able to view.

Network

The larger the company or organization, the more they discount networking - except within the organization (such as between departments, divisions or operating units). I contend - from personal experience - that networking OUTSIDE of your company or organization is essential. Whether you are in a technical field, sales, marketing, operations, IT or non-profit management, meeting and building relationships with others in your field and outside of your company or organization is absolutely essential. Attend functions, participate on committees and offer to help others who are in your professional network. Apart from education and hard work, this is one of the best investments that you can make toward success.

Take Part in a Special Project

The words "Special Project" bring chills to many people who work for large companies or organizations. It often is viewed as additional work outside of your normal (objectives) role without additional compensation. For these very reasons, may people avoid special project assignments like the plague. I argue that special assignments can be vital along the road of success within nearly any organization. There are certain considerations though:

Do:

  • Actively participate.
  • Do take on a role related to your area of expertise.
  • Do make sure the project is vital to the success, future and growth of the business or organization (e.g. business-critical)
  • Do provide weekly updates to your boss and ideally her boss.
  • Do provide a full read-out on completion of the project to your leadership team.
  • Do make sure the project leader documents your contributions to the most senior person in your organization
Don't:
  • Lead a special project unless you are temporarily relieved of your normal job responsibilities. It is a full time job.
  • Fill-in OUTSIDE of your expertise.
  • Help out with parties, recognition events, sports functions or other events not critical to the business or organization's success.
  • Use the special assignment as an excuse for your boss to forget about you.
  • Allow the special project leader to tell you she is providing a verbal report to your higher ups.
  • Allow your boss or anyone else to take credit for your contributions to the success of the special project.
Success is viewed by many as a matter of luck. And by others as the result of hard work. Luck plays a role. Hard work is essential. But so are focusing on those things which are recognized and are the day-to-day differentiators in any company or organization. By focusing on those, success can - and will - be yours in 2008.

Programming Your Mind For Success

By Darryl Mobley

Self-mastery, the ability to have complete control over yourself and therefore, your destiny, is key to achieving any measure of success in life. One step toward self-mastery is believing in yourself. Our minds are often polluted by negative thoughts introduced by ourselves and others. To be successful, we must believe in ourselves and fill our minds with positive thoughts of success and achievement. One way to do this is with positive affirmations.

In the bible it says, "If you believe, all things are possible." Napolean Hill said, "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." And Oscar Wilde said, "Yes, I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can find his way by moonlight, and see the dawn before the rest of the world."

Our subconscious mind is an incredibly powerful tool that we can use to fashion success or failure. It will do what we tell it to do. It all depends on what thoughts we feed it. I strongly urge you to feed your mind with only positive thoughts. The following are some examples of positive affirmations you can feed your inner mind for success:

  • "I will win because I do what is necessary to achieve my dreams."
  • "I love and accept myself."
  • "I love and care for my body and it cares for me."
  • "I am constantly adding to my income."
  • "I am worthy of love."
As my good friend Les Brown says, "Get out of your head and get into your greatness!" I can think of no better way to do this than with positive affirmations. Repeat them to yourself often.

Reframing our language also allows us to fill our heads with the positive rather than the negative. Research suggests that 83% of the conversations we have with ourselves are negative. The benefits are enormous when we reframe our inner-communication to capture the positive perspective.

Here are a few examples of how you can turn your negative words (and the accompanying self-defeating thoughts) into positive communication (and self-empowering actions):
  • Instead of saying, "That's just the way I am," say, "I have decided to try a different approach."
  • Instead of saying "problem," call it an "opportunity." This allows for an improvement of the situation.
Always reframe your language so that you have control over what you do and who you are.

How To Create A Personal Development Plan

By Wendy Jones

Do you realise the power of having a personal development plan? It’s like having your very own blueprint for success in your life - tailored to create your life exactly how you want it to be. If you could learn how to build your own personal development plan, would you be willing to devote 10 -15 minutes per day to nurture it and put it into practise?

Have you ever wondered what makes successful people successful? And why they actually reach the pinnacle of their careers and earn top dollar, while you seem to struggle even to make a decent living?

There’s one common trait amongst all successful people - and that is that they are all virtually totally uninhibited. They see what they want, and do whatever it takes to get there.

These people still get nervous and anxious when in demanding situations that take them outside of their comfort zone, but they have learnt how to control those limiting and dysfunctional emotions and behaviours and even eliminate them completely from their lives.

Having learned the behaviors they need to emanate success, successful people then practice these empowering behaviors every day. In doing so, they leave no room in their emotional make-up for negative and dis-empowering emotions.
If it’s possible for people to learn how conquer their negative and dysfunctional feelings and frustrations, you can learn how to do it too.

If successful people can learn how to remain relaxed and focused when they get into a winning position in sport - then so can you.

If these people have learned how to stand in front of a room full of people, be relaxed, smile, and present their ideas, so can you.

Successful people weren’t always successful - they learnt how to become successful. So if people can learn how to overcome their frustrations and focus on the actions they need to achieve their ultimate goals and ambitions - so can you.

Learning to use NLP does not require hours on end of your time to make a difference in your life. If you can allocate 15 minutes a day to practice some very simple, and very rewarding techniques, you can immediately start to take control of your fears and frustrations and turn them into a winning and empowering attitude that will continue to take you closer to your goals and ambitions.

NLP - or Neuro Linguistic Programming - in its simplest form is basically a method to help you control your thoughts and reactions in any given situation. When you experience negative emotions, like fear or nerves or anxiety, you are reacting negatively to that situation. NLP provides a mechanism that shows you how to take those negative reactions, and turn them round into positive and functional reactions that will start to empower you.

To help you get started, there are two very simple exercises that you can start practising right away:

1. First of all, you need to start to take notice (or become aware) of the things that are causing you to feel bad. If a particular situation of place causes you to feel nervous or anxious, simply make a note of it. The best plan is to carry a little notebook around with you so that you can take notes whenever you feel this way.

The reason behind this exercise is that you need to be aware of your barriers in order that you can start to break through them further down the road.

2. The second exercise is even easier - you simply need to write down how you would like to feel most of the time, and what feelings and behaviours you want to eliminate from your life.

These aren’t big exercises, but it’s important that you take time to complete them fully. The more you put into creating them, the more you’ll get out of the process when you start to create your personal development plan for building your future.
