I have known a lot of people throughout my life that are always talking about how much they want to make changes in their life and get out of the rut they are currently in. So I show them a better way and they say they are going to go for it and for a day or two they have great forward progress and then they just decide to keep doing what they are doing.

Why would people keep doing what isn't working for them?

In most cases, it's one word. Fear.

People are afraid of change. They are afraid of trying something and then not being perfect at it. They are afraid of putting in the work to be successful. They are afraid of the unknown.

Whatever they are afraid of, all fear leads to is missed opportunities. Life is all about timing and if you don't take action towards change for whatever reason, you are going to miss out. I get very frustrated when I show someone the way and they are too afraid to move forward and then months later tell me that they should have listened to me. So, they just spent the last months continuing to be unsuccessful. What a waste.

While these people let fear rule their decisions, life is passing them by. You have to take risks to be successful. If something isn't working for you, don't be afraid to try something new. Even if it's something you have never tried before.

The best way to overcome your fear is to try something. If you fail, make some modifications and try again. When you become successful at something, all the fear will go away. You will have gained the confidence to try new things and move ahead.
