Critical to success is knowing how to intentionally access the flow. When a person is in the flow and things are flowing along there is a certain tempo that takes place. There is more of an up beat to everything. There is a sense that things are moving along at a good pace and things are moving forward and progressing. Everything is just humming along. Being in the flow is like being in your personal zone, each person has their own personal tempo when things seem to be purring along; this is called being in the flow, being in the zone.
People that recognize when they are in the flow or in the zone, know how to purposely get back in the flow and use the flow as a business advantage. They utilize being in the flow as a creative place to create from, to get a different perspective on issues that they might find difficult, or to pave new directions for on going business operations.
Being in the flow is an intoxicating and addicting experience that people yearn to repeat again and again. The question is, how do you enter into an experience being in the flow intentionally, and be able to use it as a business tool, rather then occasionally or accidentally finding yourself there by happenstance? The answer to this question is different for each person. The characteristics of each person's flow experience is unique to them. Different triggers initiate a person's entrance into the flow. The actual experience of being in the flow state is again unique to the individual and characterized by their personal experiences, personality and sensitivity.
It is possible to purposely and intentionally enter into the flow by learning what characterizes your particular flow experiences. One way to learn how to access the flow purposefully is for you to start noticing when you have experienced being in the flow. Another way is, if you find yourself "being in the flow" by happenstance, then the next time you accidentally find yourself there make a mental note of how you feel in this state, and remember it. Try to determine what ends this particular incidence of "being in the flow". Once you feel you are no longer in the flow try to look back and identify the "triggers" that preceded it and cast you into this particular flow experience. Next try intentionally entering back into the flow by using the same "triggers" you thought moved you "into the flow" before that.
Music is another way to determine when you are in the flow and how to intentionally enter into the flow. As you listen to different types of music, classical, rock, pop or ballads, pay attention to how your inner tempo changes as the tempo of the music changes. As you listen, see if any of the melodies trigger the flow experience. Music is a good way to enter into total relaxation and set the stage for entering into" the flow".
Learning how to locate the flow enhances a person's business life, as well as their personal life exponentially and is critical to true success in life and in business.
